Students will be introduced to the various stages of automobile accidents and learn how to safely and efficiently navigate through these stages in a team environment. You will learn how to identify and isolate potential hazards to both you and the patient. We will focus on Supplemental Restraint Systems (SRS) and the hazards that these systems pose to today’s firefighters. Building on skills acquired from the RS Rescue Awareness & Ops program, students will be introduced to a variety of advanced level vehicle rescue incidents, their challenges and the different tools and equipment that may be required to assist in incident resolution. These types on incidents include vehicles in unique or precarious positions as well as advanced extrication techniques using a variety of different hydraulic, electric and pneumatic tools and equipment. RS Rescue instructors will guide you through the challenges that rescuers face when tackling these types of incidents.
